Board of Directors, Treasurer
The Brookline Symphony Orchestra (a 501(c)(3) organization) seeks a treasurer for our volunteer Board of Directors. Ideal candidates will be passionate about advancing classical music and interested in being an active part of our community.
As the highest leadership body of the organization and to satisfy its fiduciary duties, the board is responsible for:
determining the mission and purposes of the organization
strategic and organizational planning
ensuring fiduciary oversight and financial management
fundraising and resource development
approving and monitoring the organization’s programs and services
enhancing the organization’s public image
Qualifications:
Experience in Accounting (familiarity with Quickbooks preferred).
Experience and/or interest in one or more of the following areas:
Finance
Development
Public Relations
Arts Administration
Time Commitment:
One monthly 90 minute board meeting.
2-4 hours per month to reconcile our account
2-4 hours for tax filings at end of fiscal year (July)
2-4 hours for tax filings in January
