Emily Spector

Emily Spector began studying violin at the age of 4 at Hoff-Barthelson Music School, under April Johnson.

She would go on to spend five years in the school’s Honors program, win first place in the Hudson Valley Music Club’s chamber music competition, and win third place in the Westchester Symphony Orchestra’s concerto competition.

At age 17, Emily was accepted into the inaugural class of the Harvard/Berklee Dual Degree program. In addition to her coursework, she played in and served as the executive general manager of the Harvard-Radcliffe Orchestra and regularly performed in a piano trio at NEC with her brothers, coached by Carol Ou. Her summers saw her work at New York Classical WQXR in audio engineering, Nashville’s Compass Records and Tape Room Music as a Berklee Summer Fellow, and on the microphone product management team at Shure Inc.

Emily graduated from Harvard with an A.B. in Music, with a focus on contemporary musicology. Outside of the violin, Emily is a rock vocalist, drummer, guitarist, and songwriter, and she works at a robotics startup in go-to-market strategy and business operations. When not playing music or at work, you can find her snowboarding, running, or teaching.
