Auditions

The Brookline Symphony Orchestra is a community ensemble involving instrumentalists of all ages from the Greater Boston area. All orchestra members except for the concertmaster are volunteers and are encouraged to participate in the financial support of the organization. The winds operate with a rotation system.

Rehearsal Information:
Rehearsals are held on Monday evening, weekly from 7:15 to 9:45pm, starting in mid September and ending late May at the Korean Church of Boston in Brookline Village. In addition, we hold a dress rehearsal the Saturday before the concert at All Saints Parish (our performance venue) in Washington Square, Brookline, MA. Audition dates: 
Auditions for the 2018-2019 season will be held September 9, 2018. 
Individual auditions can also be scheduled on a case by case basis, depending on our needs. These are usually held right before our rehearsal. 

Audition Material:
Applicants should prepare required excerpts as listed, as well as representative contrasting material of their choice from either a Concerto, a Sonata, or the orchestral repertoire and, if possible, material relevant to our upcoming season. The audition will last about 10 minutes
